All we know for sure is the location; The Gurkha Oriental Palace (Joanna Lumley not included) at Poole Quay. All you can eat Indian, Chinese and Nepalese etc. Awesome. No more than £13.95 per person.

Karin is the high priestess of heaven. She dawns a golden staff. She is also Suki's girlfriend. She is almost constantly near him, and when she isn't, Karin is probably worried sick about him.

She is a pretty good fighter. Her excesively cute apperance masks the great power she posesses. When angered, Karin can be fairly deadly. But overall, she is a sweet, naive young girl, who cares deeply about Suki. A very cute character.

Its like a whole world of nip tuck here in Singapore. Theres a giant food hall with hundreds of little stalls all selling noodles etc. I got duck and rice (no egg) and a soup for a quid. A record that beats Jenksy's effort by a long way. I say soup but it seemed like oily water to me. The woman in front of me alternated it with eating her rice. Maybe Ilias had it right all along!

Those crazy New Zealanders are at it again this time with an innovative take on the vessel in which you should sup your latte from. Yes you CAN get your latte in a plain old glass over there but for 50 cents more you get twice as much and a bowl from which to quaff your quaffee from.

Yesterday I had a nice buffet lunch at BAFTA. Great chocolate brownies, but covered in cocoa dust as I ruined my shirt. Being always on the ball I had a spare shirt - so no embarrassment required.

Today's lunch was once again pies, this time courtesy of the bakery in the small gold mining/panning town of Arrowtown just outside Queenstown...were there too many towns in that sentence?

The simply delicious pies were filled with lamb and mint and vennison respectively.

I would love to bring a huge supply of pies home with me to keep the loafers going for a few days but I fear a 24hr journey on 2 different planes may leave them somewhat flattened - a bit like the possums that went in them.

After eating the pies we went on a jet boat hurtling through Shotover canyon which was a great experience, yet my one regret is that I didn't have a pie to eat on the boat with me then I could've been like that fat kid on the rollercoaster on Jim'll Fix It.

Not of the Christmas variety you understand, these mince pies are pure beef.

These Kiwis love their pies, they just can't get enough of them. They aren't just mince either; lamb, cheese, steak and cheese, lamb and cheese, venison (cheese optional), pork (with injected cheese), hey you can even get possum pie which I think they just scrape off the road and warm up in the microwave.

Not ones to go against the locals fave eats we have sampled our fair share of pies over the last few weeks, the best coming from the Te Papa museum in Wellington which is surprising as we all know the shite that the british museums churn out in their canteens. Oh yes it was a venison and Guiness pie.

So after all that today's lunch just had to be a... burger! Thanks to The Olive Tree Cafe in Te Anau.

Daughter's glasses crisis this morning may impact on my ability at lunch time to get home, walk the dog, prepare my toast, etc. I mean I had to miss the first 50 minutes of work this morning due to a painful eye ... so will I have be able to fit in a home lunch as well with toast?

This week in New Zealand we have been mostly eating...Lamb! Yes those New Zealanders know how to live, if they're not shearing them they're eating them (not always in that order either).

The lamb here is indeed fantastic and we can't get enough of it - not ENOUGH meat that's the problem.

What's all this rubbish on the blog about toast?

In New Zealand the Panini is virtually extinct and the toasted sandwich does indeed live on, in fact today I enjoyed a rather tasty steak sandwich for brekkie.

On a side note, Kate also swam with dolphins this morning...I wanted to try one for breakfast but they have some silly protection laws over here.

Yesterday our lunch was dug up from the ground, quite literally!! We enjoyed an all-you-can-eat buffet with the local Maori folk in Rotorua. Chicken, sweet potato, lamb and chocolate log (cooked in the ground as well obviously!).

Fish and Chips at Chez Fred - if one takes an early lunch - is a good trip out. Lunch special at £5.75 - Cod'n'chips, roll and butter, pot of tea! Lashings of vinegar and ketchup!

Service was very quick once we'd ordered - though the waitress was a bit stern and intimidating! Got very full by the time we left ... a huge queue of grannies waiting patiently for a table.

It's only 5 to 11 and already I've noted 2 counts of the "rumbly tumblies". I don't have a lunch today so I will be eating (within moderation of course), and Timbo has an afternoon in a special bus to look forward to (not something to do on an empty stomach).

Timescales are tight, lunch must be taken at 12pm otherwise the special bus will be delayed and the special people will get antsy.

No, it's not a spelling mistake. Lunch today is Timless as Tim is busy with his IFfy people.

So a small but intrepid group of lunchers will endeavour to carry on the tradition in the way that Mr Clague would want.

Excluded today are: Nip/Tuck (yesterday's venue) and the £5.95 Italian (as Tim and his IFfy crew have booked the whole place, virtually). Apart from those two we have a wonderful range of choices!

Fast and Feast Lunch

Hi all ... sorry I've not been posting much recently.

The Gorv has had to fast for 12 hours (for a flipping blood test this morning) ... so he's hungry as a horse and is in favour of an early lunch.

So how about leaving at 12.15 for a DNA feast?

No lunch today for The Uncle and Tim...but only because we ate so much the night before and again at breakfast that we couldn't stand to look at any!

Last nights 5 course feast was even more of an extravagance than it first may sound as we were the only people in the restaurant and the chef was only cooking for us! He kept sending out little experimental dishes for us to try and then wanting feedback...ow could we refuse! Truly amazing.

What WILL tonight hold????
